Admirable Stupid tourist in Australia.

Visiting the Northern Territory and swimming.
However, crocodiles are a way of life in the NT.
Visitor obviously going for a Darwin Award.
Double pun here as the capital of the Northern Territory is Darwin.

Worst flight: Half way from San Francisco to Honolulu, Hawaiian Airlines Flight 11 turned back, just before the point of no return...the pilot announced one engine failed and we were losing altitude. We got back to San Francisco nearly two hours later...sat on the plane for over an hour while they "tried" to fix the problem. The announced they "thought they had it fixed" which gives one real confidence...we went out to take off and had to return to the gate and deplane. They gave us a lunch voucher...none of the vouchers covered the airport food prices, so everyone had to add money to eat. Seven hours passed and they announced they had taken the plane up on a test flight to see if the repair was successful. At 4 p.m. we departed on a new plane they brought up from LA. We can only assume our original plane made it back from the test flight, but they never told us what happened to it. We arrived Honolulu just before midnight...which with the time change is 19 hours late.

My family and two guests (total 8) were on vacation in France this summer. The van we rented from AVIS, through their US website, developed some trouble and caught fire and burned. We all got out of the vehicle, but with a few minor injuries. All our possessions were destroyed along with cash and travel documents. Avis did nothing and has still done nothing to compensate us. Our home owner's ins paid for the items lost, but we a still out a 18 day vacation. We were reduced to living like street people form 5 days as tried to get out of the country without cash Credit or documentation. to make it worse, We had to have the US Embassy loan us $2000 to pay Delta to let us fly out earlier than planned, but already paid for.

I'm a flight attendant for a major airline and have a popular podcast called "Betty in the Sky with a Suitcase" in which I share unusual things that happen in the air with the world at large. The podcast has now been turned into a book by the same name. I have a "worst" list I would like to submit. How do I go about getting invited?

I nominate Aerolineas Argentinas as the most delayed airline in the world. Our flight from Sydney to Buenos Aires was delayed from 5 July to 6 July. After boarding the flight, we sat in the plane for 3.5 hours. No offer of refreshments or deplaning was made. The only expalnation offered was that the flight paperwork appeared to be incorrect and that a new flight number may need to be assigned. At our stopover in Auckland, we were delayed another hour and no reason was offered. In short, AA are completely insensitive to customer satisfaction on what is a very competitive route!
